Mission and Impact
The Gala is the Foundation鈥檚 largest and most important fundraising event of the year.
For more than 50 years, HCCC has transformed lives by expanding access to higher education
and opportunity throughout Hudson County.
Today, more than two-thirds of our students face challenges such as financial need, food insecurity, and housing insecurity. Many are first-generation students striving to change the trajectory of their families.
The Foundation is laser-focused on removing these barriers to success through:

The impact of this year鈥檚 Gala will extend far beyond this one evening. Every dollar
raised helps students persist, graduate, and thrive. We look forward to celebrating
with you on December 3, 2026.

Hudson County Executive Craig Guy
Born in Weehawken, Hudson County Executive Craig Guy has spent his entire life in Hudson County. Craig is the proud dad of his daughter Ashley and her husband Rob, and he treasures his role as 鈥淧op鈥 to their son, Connor.
Craig began his career in public service as a Jersey City police officer. He served in this role for more than 25 years, rising to the rank of lieutenant. During his time with the JCPD, Craig worked closely with community groups and civic leaders throughout the city to foster good relations between the citizenry and those who are sworn to protect and serve.
Later in his career, Craig served as both Deputy Chief of Staff and then Chief of Staff for then-County Executive Tom DeGise. In November 2024, he was elected as Hudson County鈥檚 fifth County Executive and was sworn in to office on January 4, 2024.
As County Executive, Craig has become known as a no-nonsense problem solver and consensus builder who achieves results. The Guy Administration has committed itself to addressing affordability, expanding services and opportunities for every resident, and improving the quality of life for all of Hudson County.
To address the affordable housing crisis, County Executive Guy created an affordable housing task force and put forth the Hudson County Affordable Housing Initiative. This innovative plan will allow for the development of several parcels of underutilized, County-owned property for residential housing, a substantial portion of which will be earmarked for low-income and working-class Hudson County families. The County is pursuing an ambitious timeline and hopes to break ground on the first phase in 2027.鈥
To expand services and opportunity, the Guy Administration has bolstered food security programs, allocating additional funds to food pantry providers and investing in building new pantries, with one in Bayonne opening early 2027. County Executive Guy also spearheaded the creation of a career and technical education center in Bayonne, now offering hands-on training programs in real-world and high-demand fields to students, such as the mechanical, electrical and construction trades, allied health, digital communications and cosmetology.
Working to bolster residents鈥 quality of life, Craig has implemented the Hudson County Vision Zero Action Plan, with the goal of achieving zero deaths on county roadways by 2034. The County has undertaken several aggressive safety initiatives, including the River Road Improvement Project, which saw the re-milling and resurfacing of this major artery in West New York, Guttenberg, and North Bergen. The upgrades replaced older painted lanes with a protected two-lane bicycle track, concrete separation islands, and ADA-compliant curb ramps. County Executive Guy also has commissioned a Bus Rapid Transit study for Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne and Jersey City, to help find ways to reduce travel times and improve service.
For Craig Guy, serving as County Executive is the continuation of a lifetime dedicated to Hudson County and the people who call it home. He believes government is not about promises made, but in improving people鈥檚 everyday lives. From creating more affordable housing to creating new opportunities to making our communities safer, Craig is focused on delivering meaningful results that residents can see and feel. His vision is simple: a diverse community where families can afford to stay, young people can build their futures, and every resident has a reason to be proud to call Hudson County home.
