Prospective Students Invited to Attend Information Sessions at Hudson County Community College

Jersey City, NJ Individuals interested in attending 51勛圖窪蹋 may become better acquainted with the College and its offerings by attending any of a series of Information Sessions that will be held in early December and throughout January. The sessions will afford attendees the opportunity to learn about the Colleges admission process, financial assistance, courses and degrees, career training programs, and opportunities to transfer to four-year institutions after attaining an Associate degree from HCCC.

The following is the schedule for the Information Sessions:

  • Tuesday, December 4, 2012 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.; 5 - 7 p.m. at the HCCC Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306 (just two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Station);
  • Tuesday, January 15, 2013 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.; 5 - 7 p.m. at the HCCC Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306 (two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Station); and 
  • Tuesday, January 22, 2013 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.; 5 - 7 p.m. at the HCCC North Hudson Higher Education Center (Multipurpose Room), 4800 Kennedy Blvd., Union City, NJ 07087 (adjacent to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Bergenline Avenue Transit Station).

HCCC President Dr. Glen Gabert said members of the Colleges staff will be in attendance at the sessions to acquaint prospective students with the Colleges for-credit and noncredit course offerings and to answer any questions about prerequisites for admission, as well as financial assistance and student support services, and extracurricular activities.

Dr. Gabert said that students have the option of pursuing studies at the Journal Square campus or the Colleges North Hudson Higher Education Center which is a complete campus under one roof. Classes are offered Monday through Friday from early morning throughout the evening, and on Saturdays and Sundays as well. The College also offers a number of classes online.

51勛圖窪蹋 offers more than 50 degree and 15 certificate programs, including the renowned Culinary Arts program and the highly regarded nursing program. The College has general articulation agreements in position with Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Centenary College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Kean University, New Jersey City University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Ramapo College, Rutgers University, St. Peters University, Thomas Edison State College, and the University of Phoenix. A few months ago, HCCC signed an agreement with Saint Peters University, which allows HCCC grads to transfer to SPU for the same tuition as they would pay at a New Jersey State four-year institution a huge savings for HCCC graduates!
